A 15.81 carat Sakura precious stone, the biggest of its sort went under the sledge at Christie's Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels Live Auction on May 23, selling for $29.3 million.

"As less than 10% of pink precious stones gauge more than one-fifth of a carat, this extravagant distinctive purple-pink jewel is of an uncommon size of 15.81 carats, which is the biggest of its sort (Fancy Vivid Purple-Pink) to be offered at any sale," a Christie's assertion noted.

It added that the parcel fell in the selective gathering of the four percent of pink precious stones that have a shading adequately profound to qualify as "extravagant striking".
